The game of Rummy has many variations in different countries. The basic variant is known as Sai Rummy, while the second type is known as Sanka Rummy. If a player’s hand is empty, he may call “Rummy” to draw from the discard pile. The player who called “Rummy” then takes the card from the discard pile and melds it. If the player is out of cards, he or she may call “Rummy!”. If no one has gone over the discarded cards, then the turn passes to the player on the player’s left. The game continues this way clockwise.
In a traditional game of Rummy, the object is to get the fewest points. Players add up points when they go out. You can only use a maximum of nine cards in a game of 201 points. A player can rejoin a table after buying in a second time. However, in the Classic Rummy game, players have the option to select Auto Play. The auto-play function will allow players to play for free.
Another variation of Rummy is Gin Rummy. In Gin Rummy, two or more players play against each other in a partnership. The game is played with a standard deck of 52 cards, and a randomly selected Joker. Players have to form melds of seven or more cards of the same rank, or ‘go out’ by playing all their cards.
